In order for your non-English documents to be accepted by ICA, these important documents have to be notarized. Notarization can only be done by a notary public who has studied a minimum of 12 years in law and is certified to authenticate and certify the document.
Documents required by ICA are notarized translations of:
- Birth certificate or official household census list or family register showing both parents’ name;
- Deed Poll or change of name certificate (if applicable);
- Birth certificates of your child(ren) showing both parents’ names and child’s name (including adoption papers) from the current marriage certificate (if any);
- Death certificate or divorce certificate and the custody papers for the child(ren) in respect of your previous marriage(s) (if any);
- Highest educational certificates (including all tertiary qualifications);
